(In our landmark 20th anniversary year, Girls Write Now is meeting an unprecedented demand for our writing and mentoring programs, and that’s why we are serving nearly 40% more girls. But it’s not enough. Together we can do more. Today’s social and political climate is actively endangering the rights of women. Our girls are over 90% high need, 95% girls of color, and over 70% immigrant or first generation. They are more vulnerable now than ever before. Working in partnership with our donors, we have a civic obligation to make sure they thrive. Girls Write Now has served as a leader in the arts education landscape, recognized nationally as one of the top youth programs. Here, girls feel safe enough to take creative risks and learn how to persuasively defend their views.
